Book: South of the Border, West of the Sun

29 Nov

I had to read a contemporary book by an Asian author for my Asian Literature class, so I chose South of the Border, West of the Sun, by Haruki Murakami. I had never read one of his books before and I didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by his writing style. The story is very common and realistic, which I thought it would be boring at first, but somehow he manages to make it mysterious and woolgathering. I will read more of his work as soon as I have time.

Drama: Flower Boy Next Door

25 Nov

This is the last Asian drama I watched and that was a few months ago. I haven’t felt like watching a drama for a long time, actually, but this one got my attention. For the first time, I think it was the main girl’s personality what made me like this. She was different from most drama girls and it was refreshing. The guys were nice and funny too. You will die out of love when you hear the words “Papua New Guinea”. No idea about what I’m saying? Then watch it 🙂

Manhwa: Crazy Girl Shin Bia

24 Nov

This manga had been on my to-read list for a while because it meets my favorite genres, but I felt it wouldn’t be that good, so I postponed it until a few weeks ago. While it wasn’t as bad as I thought, I’ve read better stories. But don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it a lot and had a good time.

Movie: Deranged

23 Nov

I watched this movie in a movie festival and it was totally awesome! I didn’t thought I would like it that much, but I think it’s one of the best Korean movies I’ve ever seen. It hooked me up from the beginning. I totally recommend it.

Manhwa: Love in the Mask

22 Nov

When I read this, I had already read some gender bender mangas. What I really like about Love in the Mask is that it is not a comedy manwha. Usually gender bender stories are comical and I was a bit sick of it. I like dramatic stories, by the way. But that’s not the real reason. It was just refreshing to see this topic from another point of view. But as much as I liked it at first, it has a lot of flaws as you’ll find out when you read the whole review.

Movie: A Werewolf Boy

21 Nov

I waited for this movie even before it was released. I checked the internet almost everyday to see if it had been uploaded somewhere until I finally found it. I wanted to see what a Korean movie about love and fantasy would be like since I love the mix of both genres. Turned out that I loved it until I got angry around the end. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil you 🙂

Manga: Ayashi No Ceres

20 Nov

There is nothing special to say about this manga. I chose to read it because it was a fantasy, supernatural and romance manga. Mmm… My favorite kind! It was a bit lacking, but good enough to make me read it non stop. But making me an addict is easy to achieve, I guess hehe. I downloaded the anime. I promise to review it as soon as I watch it. Now, continue reading!
