This very famous movie was released last November, so I’ve seen it a bit late, which is kinda rare for a fan of the books… sort of. This is the first time I feel the movies are better than the books and that’s saying something. While I think the books are good, they didn’t really hooked me that much, but the movies do a good job at that. I haven’t even finished the last book, which is something that almost never happens to me. I’ll do it, though, someday. Maybe before watching the last movie or movies. Is it going to be split in two parts?

General Information:

  • Genre: action, dystopia, romance, science fiction
  • Country: United States
  • Year: 2013
  • Duration: 146 min.
  • Main casting:Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth
  • Trailer: youtube

Synopsis:

Katniss and Peeta have finally returned to District 12, but the peace won’t last long. Katniss’ actions in the last Hunger Games have raised rebellions around the region and President Snow pays her a visit to threaten her about killing both Gale’s and her family. During the Victorious Tour, he wants her to convince the people of Panem that she acted out of love and not as a defiance against the Capitol.

However, when Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 after the tour, there is a riot and President Snow decides then to do a special Hunger Games whose participants will be chosen among the previous victors as a way of showing the people that Katniss is just another Capitol’s tool and not a revolutionary role model.

With so many capable opponents, can Katniss win this new Hunger Games again? Who will be her allies and who will she have to kill? How different can these games be from the previous one? Is the Capitol living in borrow time?

The best:

  • It is a freaking good adaptation. I even felt I had already seen the movie at some parts, which was pretty weird.
  • Actors and actresses are REALLY good.
  • Liam Hemsworth. Let me fangirl for a bit, please 😀
  • The effects, the pace… The camera angles weren’t as annoying as in the first movie.

The worst:

  • I don’t know… I’ve said already I enjoyed the movies even more than the books, so..

Score:

10 out of 10. YEAAAAH! Sometimes I think I give high marks too easily, though.

Quotes:

Yes, new section. Sadly, I only remember one since I wasn’t taking notes, but you can say your own and I’ll add them 🙂

“Remember who the enemy is.” -various characters.
