himegimi to sambiki no kemonoThis manga is shorter than the ones I like to read, but I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. I recommend you to read it if you want a not so complicated story that is still pretty intriguing and with likable characters.

Synopsis:

Princess Violet is fed up with her situation. After her father died, her over-protective mother has been too strict on her, not letting her go out of the castle and lecturing her about how a princess should be. However, Violet wonders how she can be a good queen if she doesn’t know her people and their problems first-hand.

For that reason, when the well-known group of robbers, who called themselves The Three Beasts, send the castle an advance notice saying that they’ll take the last treasure left behind by the late king to his beloved daughter, she decides to join them instead and see the world.

Will she gain the experience she’s looking for to be a good queen? Will Violet and The Three Beasts  figure out what’s exactly the treasure left by the king?

Art:

Very pretty art and very similar to Barajou no Kiss’s art, although the authors are not the same. The contrast between black and white is very outstanding and nice. The backgrounds are fine enough. The characters shoulders seemed a bit off, though, as well as their height.

Characters:

I like the main female character. She isn’t a pushover, but she is not a warrior either, which makes her kinda realistic. After all, she’s being treated like a princess and, in spite of her desire to see the world, you can’t expect her to be a very strong girl. She also learns from her experiences, which is the reason why she joins the robbers. It would have been pointless otherwise. It amazes me how many female manga characters never learn, so thanks for this one, really.

The three robbers are cool looking, two of them funny and the third one serious as, of course, he is the male lead. And, of course again, he  has the most interesting story to tell. I’d have liked to see more of the other two guys, but, true be told, these series aren’t that long. Actually, it doesn’t even have a lot of romance as the story focuses on the adventure genre. Still, you will enjoy the romance.

The best:

  • Nice art.
  • I’d say the story is more or less original and intriguing.
  • The female lead learns from her experiences. OMG! 😀

The worst:

  • I don’t remember any special complains. Maybe that it’s not that focus on the romance is a bad point if that’s what you are looking for though.
  • I’d have liked it to be a longer and more developed story, but it does wrapped up itself nicely anyway.

Score:

9 out of 10. I had to give it a good score with such a likable female lead, although because it was too short for me I have the feeling it should be a bit lower. Hehe
